Classification of steels in terms of limiting plasticity in hot pressure treatment

  • Published:
Steel in Translation Aims and scope

Abstract

Computer classification of a wide range of steels in terms of their plasticity in the temperature range of hot plastic deformation is proposed. Taxonometric analysis is selected as the means of classification. The results of classification may be used in introducing new products at various pressure-treatment systems, in order to permit rapid selection of appropriate hot-deformation conditions, by analogy with the conditions for comparable existing products.
