Selecting the economic conditions of blast-furnace smelting by means of an information and simulation system

Abstract

Using an information and simulation system, the smelting characteristics and processes in blast furnace 9 at OAO ArcelorMittal Krivoi Rog are analytically studied. The characteristics are predicted with variation in the charging parameters so as to reduce coke consumption. After confirming the coke economy at the working furnace, the new charging parameters are established for constant operation.
