Differential-Scanning Calorimetry of Graphite and Activated Carbon in Argon

Abstract

Calorimetric and gravimetric measurements of C-3 spectral graphite and OU-B activated carbon dispersions in an inert gas atmosphere of argon were performed at different temperatures. These studies are of considerable current interest in graphite and activated carbon technologies. It was established that the weight loss in an inert gas atmosphere at temperatures to 1000°C is an important parameter for the physicochemical characterization of graphites and activated carbons.
