On the geological and physical mechanisms of natural processes in dynamic geology problems

Abstract

The applicability of the abstract physical mechanisms in studies of concrete geological processes is considered. It is shown that “nongeological” theoretical models are an important component of the initial axiomatics in solving the fundamental and applied problems of dynamic geology. The discussed “simple” mechanisms adequately explain the complex deterministic–chaotic dynamics of nonlinear processes related to tectonic faulting and the unpredictability of geocatastrophes in a coarsely discrete fractal medium.
