Abstract

Analysis of literature data on the distribution and ecology of the yellow wagtail Motacilla citreola Pallas, 1776 (Passeriformes, Motacillidae, Motacillinae), was performed at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Its current abundance has been estimated. Distribution patterns of the species at the studied territory within the European part of Russia, including the Middle Volga region, have been revealed.
