Abstract
Hexameric p-t-butylcalix[6]arene(tbca, HmL,m=2 or 1) in the various solvents has shown an ability to extract silver(I), pal ladiunI(II) and nickel(II) from the ammonia alkaline solution. The results from liquid liquid extraction study suggested the formation of the 1:1 metal (Ag, Pd and Ni) to tbca complex as the extracted species. A percent extraction (% E) pattern of Pd(II)>Ni(II)>Ag(I) was obtained in 1,2-di eh 1oroethane, dichloromethane and nitrobenzene solvents. The order of high extractabi 1 ity (pH=11.7 and pH=13.5) corresponds to increase of dielectric constant except ni trobenzene.
