Abstract

The rising outdoor temperatures necessitates cool roofs for concrete buildings with smart glass windows that let light but not heat in. It is technically challenging to combine optical transparency and IR reflection in one coat for any heat control cool windows. In addition to showing promising UV shielding qualities, the Lanthanum titanate-Para red hybrid colorant synthesized in this study exhibited unique traits with 97% of NIR reflectance characteristics. The hybrid colorant’s polymer coating developed on the glass substrate had displayed optical transparency, IR reflectance quality, chemical stability, and color fastness. These heat management surface coatings can bring tremendous impact on energy conservation as a result of reduced dependency on air conditioning. The scope of the study was extended to encompass applications concerning Cool Leather and Cool Fabric.
