Wheat genetic resources in Russia: Current status and prebreeding studies

  • Published:
Russian Journal of Genetics: Applied Research

Abstract

One of the largest wheat collections in the world, which is maintained in a living state at the Vavilov Institute of Plant Industry in St. Petersburg, and relevant studies are described. The history of prebreeding studies and the results of genetic diversity evaluation of wheat samples by DNA markers are reviewed.
