Russian Journal of Genetics: Applied Research
Genetics in the modern world solves wide range of problems from providing knowledge about fundamental laws of storage, modification, and transfer of genetic information and the mechanisms of their realization to satisfying the vital needs of mankind in production of food resources and global biological safety.
Based on the results of fundamental studies, the applied research in genetics is of practical use in important areas such as medicine and public health service, pharmacology, biotechnology, selection of highly productive farm animals and plants, maintenance of biological diversity, etc.
Russian Journal of Genetics: Applied Research contains translations of papers selected from two leading Russian journals - Vavilovskii Zhurnal Genetiki I Selektsii (Vavilov Journal of Genetics and Breeding) and Ekologicheskaya genetika (Ecological Genetics).
The main topics of the journal are: cell biology, cytogenetics, molecular biology, developmental genetics; plant, animal and human genetics; population and evolutionary genetics; microbial, plant and animal biotechnology; bioinformatics and systems biology.
The journal also considers all aspects of ecological genetics including behavioral genetics, human ecological genetics, environmental and genetic toxicology, emerging diseases, mutagenesis and carcinogenesis, simbiogenetics, aging, genetic models in ecology.
