Protein allergenicity prediction on the basis of conformational peptides

  • Published:
Russian Journal of Genetics: Applied Research

Abstract

Allergies are one of the most common health problems for developed countries. The accuracy of the prediction of protein allergenicity from their amino-acid sequences is limited due to the spatial organization of protein patches that contain allergenic epitopes. A new method for the prediction of allergenic proteins based on an analysis of conformational peptides on their surfaces was proposed. It was shown that the use of information on the conformational peptides of a protein improves the accuracy of the method for allergenicity prediction.
