Abstract

The paper presents mathematical models for thermal processes of FOG-035 fiber-optic gyro. The models simulate space conditions of vacuum and weightlessness. Supporting software is developed. The model adequacy is verified by comparing them with experimental data. Thermal analysis of FOG-035 fiberoptic gyro is conducted. Effects produced on FOG thermal behavior by thermal screen, extreme conditions of vacuum and weightlessness, and various gyro orientations are qualitatively and quantitatively estimated. Passive methods reducing gyro thermal sensitivity are developed and studied.
