Abstract

The atomic radial distribution function of an amorphous metal alloy of composition Al85Ni10Nd5 is analyzed using a fragmentary model. A comparative analysis of the most probable interatomic distances in the alloy and in possible compounds based on it show the presence of crystalline nuclei of the following phases in it: Al3Nd, Al3Ni2, Al3Ni, and Al. Most likely, the quantitative distribution of the detected phases is as follows: 5Al3Nd + 4Al3Ni2 + 2Al3Ni + 52Al. The crystallized alloy contains Al and Al3Ni. Some of the lines of the Debyegram of the crystallized alloy are not identified.
