Abstract
Emulsifier-free emulsion polymerization of methyl methacrylate in the presence of potassium persulfate initiator, taken in several different concentrations, at various pH values was studied with the aim to obtain colloidal crystals. The thermal properties of poly(methyl methacrylate) prepared by emulsifier-free emulsion polymerization, as the starting material for fabrication of photonic crystals, were examined in relation to the synthesis conditions.
