A physicochemical study of alkaline-earth metal carbonatouranylates

  • Published:
Radiochemistry Aims and scope

Abstract

Optimal procedures were developed for preparing the compounds M II2 UO2(CO3)3·nH2O (MII = Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba; n = 0–18). The structure and thermal decomposition of these compounds were studied by X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, and differential scanning calorimetry. The previously unknown standard enthalpies of formation of the compounds at 298.15 K were determined by reaction calorimetry.
