Abstract

In this paper, we consider the problem of compensation of reflections from local objects that distort the estimates of the spectral characteristics of meteorological formations, which is actual for Doppler weather radars. A method of statistical synthesis of notch filters with the required interference notch zone at the first stage of inter-period signal processing is proposed. Using the examples of interference filters with close to zero and extended notch zones, the correctness and efficiency of the proposed synthesis method are proven. For various situations, the velocity characteristics of the synthesized filters are estimated and methods for controlling the “dips” of the frequency characteristics in the interference zones are determined.
