Abstract
The radiative heat transfer between a spherical dielectric particle and a thick plate of same material (silicon dioxide) has been studied within the framework of fluctuation electrodynamics. Results obtained in various theoretical approximations for the thermal conductance are compared to recent experimental data [Sheng Shen et al. (2009)].
