Abstract

We demonstrate the possibility of forming a polyaniline-α-C〈Pt〉 catalytic system for fuel cells using magnetron cosputtering of platinum and graphite onto a thin (∼100 nm) polyaniline film obtained by oxidative polymerization of aniline on a silicon substrate surface. The obtained system exhibits catalytic activity in a hydrogen-oxygen fuel cell, with a specific activity of 0.43 and 0.29 mW/(μg Pt) on the cathode and anode, respectively.
