Thermal depolarization of naturally polarized zinc selenide polycrystals

Abstract

The properties of zinc selenide (ZnSe) polycrystals grown by chemical vapor deposition have been studied. Homogeneous heating of the samples gives rise to a thermal-depolarization-induced current in the external circuit. The appearance of polarization in polycrystalline ZnSe samples is related to the internal electric and elastic fields formed in the course of growth and orientation ordering of the crystalline grains.
