Recrystallization creep of sodium chloride in solutions with different compositions. 1. The effect of additives of inorganic salts

Abstract

The deformation of sodium chloride single and polycrystals is investigated in the presence of its own saturated aqueous solution. It is shown that the addition of salts to the solution in a wide concentration range may substantially affect the rate of the recrystallization creep of NaCl. The observed effect is explained by the influence of the additives on the intensity of the diffusion mass transfer in sodium chloride solutions.
