Abstract
An express method for the determination of the Poisson ratio of ferromagnetic materials is proposed. It is applied using samples with plane-parallel boundaries with single-sided access and a known sample thickness. The electromagnetic-acoustic (EMA) method made it possible to excite and identify surface and transverse waves using a single sensor and to determine the Poisson ratio by their velocity. It is shown using an example that the estimated accuracy of the method can be 1.2%.
