Effect of ion bombardment on the topography and chemical composition of the surface of Pd-Ba powder composites

Abstract

The effect of 7-keV Ar+-ion bombardment on the surface morphology of porous Pd-Ba composite manufactured by the powder metallurgical method is studied. It is shown that irradiation leads to the formation of cones on the surface of the target which can be used as point emitters.
