Abstract
The notion of sustainability with regard to society and the state is dialectically interconnected with the notion of fluctuation, the extreme manifestation of the latter being a crisis of society, up to disintegration. The lessons of the latest world economic crisis show that the sustainable development of Russian society more and more depends on processes that take place in the forming global society. The author of the article published below analyzes the results of the sociological monitoring investigation of the sociopolitical sustainability of Russian society “How Are You, Russia?, which has been conducted under his supervision by the RAS Institute of Sociopolitical Research since 1992.
