Abstract

A year ago, V.L. Ginzburg, an outstanding physicist and a Nobel prizewinner, died. Such people never leave this world without a trace. His name will remain in textbooks and scientific literature on physics, astrophysics, and radio astronomy. Moreover, the memory about this outstanding personality remains in the hearts of people who were his students, attended his famous workshops at the Lebedev Physical Institute, or just came upon him in different situations. The editorial board of the journal Herald of the Russian Academy of Sciences remembers Ginzburg as the author of brilliant scientific articles and an illustrious publicist, as well as a benevolent but uncompromising critic of our publications.
