Abstract

A mathematical model taking into account the branching of a polymer is developed for the synthesis of diene rubber with a neodymium-based catalytic system (NBCS) in a cascade of continuous reactors. The model is used to study the main branching characteristics of NBCS diene rubber. Relations for calculating the average number of branches per macromolecule, average length of a main chain, average length of side chains, weight fraction of a polymer in side chains and G-factor are derived.
