Abstract
A charger for low-voltage lead-acid storage batteries with asymmetric current is described. The applied topology of the double active bridge made it possible to provide a bi-directional mode of operation necessary for the formation of recovery charge-discharge cycles formed by asymmetric bipolar charging current pulses with levels of –7 and +20 A of various durations with a frequency of 10 Hz. The developed matching transformer is made on the ELP 38 magnetic core with a high-current single-turn winding from a copper bus.
