Abstract—A compact pulse shaper described here for controlling broadband electro-optical modulators is capable of operating at frequencies from 0 to 1.5 MHz and allows the generation of control pulses with voltages up to 300 V or more and rise and fall edges of ~35 ns. The small dimensions of the shaper make it possible to combine it with an electro-optic modulator into a single unit, which significantly reduces parasitic electromagnetic radiation.
