Abstract
The design of a compact detector on the basis of an activated p-terphenyl single crystal with signal registration using a silicon photomultiplier is described. The results of measurements of the detector characteristics during detection of β-hyphen particles are presented. The prospects of the detector application in modern scintillation instruments for space research are mentioned.
