Abstract
Changes in the amplitude and position of the maximum of the depth dose distribution produced by the electron beams with energies of 25 and 50 MeV in the presence of a transverse magnetic field with an induction of 05–1.2 T are confirmed experimentally. A model for the analytical calculation of the depth dose distribution is proposed. The model is based on the theory of electron-photon showers. A good agreement is observed between the experimental distribution and the distribution calculated with the use of the proposed model.
