Abstract
We demonstrate that organoyttroxanealumoxanes with the general formula [Al(OR) l (OR*) x (OH) z O y ] m · [(R**O) s Y(OH) t O r ] k , where m/k < 200, possess fiber-forming properties, which allows one to use them as precursors to yttria-doped alumina-based refractory fibers, including those identical in composition to yttrium aluminum garnet, Al5Y3O12 [1].
