Abstract

A spectral-luminescent study of the oxidizing transformations of 5-hydroxy-6-methyluracil in aqueous alkali solutions has been carried out for the first time. It has been established that 5,5,6-trihydroxy-6-methylpyrimidine-2,4-dione is formed in the reaction.
