Abstract
Standing waves (seiches) in a rectangular channel with varying depth are considered in the case when the channel depth steadily changes starting from zero. The modified accelerated-convergence method is used to solve the problem. The dependences of the form of the seiches on the channel width are obtained for different bottom profiles. The behavior of natural frequencies for channel depth profiles is analyzed.
