Abstract
Ultrafine diamond (UFD) is a hybrid product of explosion mechanics and material science. In this paper, we established the synthesis mechanism of UFD, built the direct-simulation Monte Carlo computing method for the generation of liquid drops from free carbon through coagulation during detonation, and constructed the computing programs for explosion thermodynamics conditions and phase-transition dynamics. The synthesis and purification technology were studied systemically.
