Distribution of elastic and electric fields of a photorefractive grating near the boundaries of crystals of 4mm and 6mm symmetry class

Abstract

A theoretical analysis of the surface structure of a photorefractive grating is carried out. The effect of the trap saturation on the electric and elastic fields that are formed near the crystal boundary by the diffusion mechanism of charge separation is taken into account. The perturbations of the crystal permittivity tensor at the light wave frequency are analyzed. The possibility of a diffraction of light with a change of polarization in the near-boundary region is revealed.
