Abstract
It is suggested and demonstrated that the magnetic sensitivity of planar triacs can be increased by the surface structure modification achieved by irradiating the devices with α-and β-particles. The results of investigation of the samples of low-power optocouplers based on the structure-modified triacs show evidence of a significantly (tenfold) increased magnetic sensitivity.
