Abstract
The problem of interaction between a steady-state supersonic flow and a planar isobaric region of energy release is solved. The solution is used to investigate the drag of an object in the wake behind the region of energy release. Conditions are determined for which the drag of the object can be reduced appreciably. The energy efficiency of this method of reducing the drag is studied.
