Abstract
Equations describing the envelopes of an electron beam in a modified betatron and an l=2 stellatron are obtained on the basis of a self-similar solution of the dynamic equations of a charged fluid. It is shown that the poloidal motion of a beam caused by a toroidal magnetic field consists of rotation of the beam as a whole and internal movement of the fluid with elliptical current lines.
