Interband emission of cadmium thiogallate

Abstract

The edge cathodoluminescence of CdGa2S4 single crystals was studied at a temperature of 80 K. The true emission spectrum was obtained with allowance made for self-absorption. New intense lines related to band-to-band transitions and recombination via a deep acceptor level were observed. The results obtained are interpreted using the data on photoconductivity and fundamental absorption of this compound.
