A modified method for clearing and staining leaf-infecting fungi in whole leaves

Abstract

The dye Chlorazol Black E, incorporated in a leaf-clearing solution containing ethanol, chloroform, lactic acid, phenol and chloral hydrate, gave excellent differentiation of rust and powdery mildew infections in leaf tissue at room temperature.
