Abstract
Citrus canker (Xanthomonas campestris pv. citrq was detected on five West lndian lime trees at Christmas Island. Eradication of the disease from the island was not considered feasible. Banana leaf rust (Uredo musae) was widespread on cultivated and wild banana plants. This is the first record of Uredo musae on Australian territory.
