Abstract
This paper describes a problem, known as the Personnel Assignment Problem, for assigning personnel into positions in a military setting. Part of the challenge of the assignment is in determining a number that measures the ‘fit’ of an individual in a position. A value is constructed from the data for each pairing of an individual with a position.
