Scheduling the Cricket World Cup—a Case Study

Abstract

This paper describes the scheduling of the matches for the 1992 World Cup of Cricket using a heuristic method programmed in Lotus 1-2-3. The many constraints of different types precluded an analytical approach and the authors describe their method and solution.
