Simulating Automated Food Plants

Abstract

Recent years have seen increasing automation and integration of the manufacturing of foodstuffs in the UK. This paper uses two case studies to describe the principles of simulating such plants. These simulations can be used for designing new plants or for improving the performance of existing plants.
