Journal of the Operational Research Society

Abstract

The paper describes the method used to ascertain the nature and quantities of industrial wastes arising within a metropolitan county. The analysis centres on the relationship between the nature and size of a firm, and the quantity of waste generated by it. The results have been used as an input to the County Council's Waste Disposal Plan (required under section 2 of the 1974 Control of Pollution Act).
