Abstract
The Pb-, Nd-, and Sr-isotope compositions of oceanic ferromanganese deposits, together with the Nd-, and Sr-isotope compositions of altered ocean-floor basalts are reported. These data are used to evaluate the sources of these metals in both the oceans and ferromanganese deposits and the extent to which ocean-floor basalts are a source of, or a sink for these metals.
