Abstract

TESTOSTERONE metabolites are found in the prostate gland in vivo1,2 and preliminary experiments, briefly reported3, indicate that prostatic tissue grown in vitro metabolizes the hormone. The action of testosterone could be caused directly by the hormone, or indirectly through its transformation into metabolites, for example, through tran-hydrogenation4, or to metabolites themselves5.
