Abstract
AN experiment was designed to investigate the mortality pattern produced by large doses of tobacco tar in an inbred strain of mice. The object was to find the maximum dose that could evoke a definite carcinogenic response, without causing high mortality. An attempt was also made to investigate the possibility of the development of tolerance to large doses of tobacco tar, by means of varied schedules of administration.
