Abstract
SOME years ago1, the molecular weight of cod skeletal muscle myosin was calculated as 5.3 × 105 from the sedimentation and diffusion coefficients and as 5.9 × 105 from measurements by the Archibald method. These values did not differ widely from the then accepted value for the molecular weight of rabbit skeletal muscle myosin. Recently, however, rather divergent values for rabbit myosin have been obtained.
