Abstract

MURINE lymphocytic leukæmia, whether spontaneous or induced by ionizing radiations or chemical carcinogens, cannot develop in the absence of thymus tissue1. It has recently been shown that the early leukæmia produced in Ak mice by the inoculation of leukæmic filtrate at birth can be prevented by total thymectomy2. A similar inhibition of leukæmogenesis has been reported in C3H mice3.
