Failure of Transmission of Motor and Sensory Nerve Impulses after Nerve Section

Abstract

HITHERTO the time at which failure of transmission of nerve impulses occurs following section of the nerve trunk has been determined in mixed nerves only. In the popliteal and spectively1,2. Erlanger and Schoepfle3 found degeneration in the phrenic nesciatic nerve of the cat it was found to occur after about three and four days rerve to be complete after about four days.
