Abstract
THIS year's Colloquium or Summer School of the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies was held during July 5–18. I have described the character of the Institute and of these annual meetings in a review of Schroedinger's lectures on "Statistical Thermodynamics"1. The lecturers of this course were Dirac (Cambridge), Janossy (Manchester) and myself, to whom was added less officially W. H. Peng, my former Chinese collaborator, who has now been appointed assistant professor at the Dublin Institute.
